Stringent measures needed to curb female foeticide: President Pratibha Patil
Jalgaon, Feb 9 : Expressing concern over distorted male-female sex ratio, President Pratibha Patil on Saturday said that stringent measures are required to contain the problem at Jalgaon.
Earlier in the day, President Patil visited the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sport Complex and reviewed the sports facilities available in the district.
The Complex has a eight-lane 400 metre track, turf grounds for football and hockey, an international level badminton court, modern health club, table tennis court, swimming tank, hostel for players, and sitting arrangement for 10,000 spectators.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh was also present during the occasion. (ANI)
