Spiralling onion prices may bring more tears
The prices of onions are already causing troubles for the citizens of the entire nation. As per latest reports, the onion prices are set to cause more problems in days to come.
The traders in Maharashtra and Gujarat went on strike, thus onions' supply was short of demand. The strike will cause the prices to even touch the Rs. 100 mark.
The traders have stopped buying from the farmers owing to their denial of following the court orders of not selling onions above Rs. 40.
Trucks that set out on Monday for delivery were also called back by the traders. Rajasthan and MP will be supporting with some onions but they will not even be sufficient for the capital. Thus, the question of states of Bengal, UP and Assam getting onions is minimal.
Some of the traders and experts believe that there was a great shortage in the markets on Tuesday, thus the prices are expected to rise sky high in the coming week till strike lasts.
