Source of leaking VK Singh's letter to PM must be punished, AntonyIndia's union defense minister AK Antony has said that the source behind leaking Gen VK Singh's letter to the Prime Minister must be identified if possible and must be gven adequate punishment.

Antony said that the act of leaking the address to the Prime Minister was anti-national and must not go unpunished. He pointed out that the head of all the wings of our Armed Forces have confidence of the government.

The defense minister said that the government will not allow any kind of malpractice or corruption in procurement of defense equipments. The government has included an integrity clause in defense procurements in all the deals above Rs. 300 crore. The integrity clause says that if any irregularity is found in any of the deal for defense procurements, it will be cancelled.

The Ministry of Defense is now seeking strict measures against corruption in deals to deal for acquiring defense procurements.

"With the projected growth of the Indian economy expected at a trajectory of 8-10 per cent for the next two decades, expenditure on defense in absolute terms is bound to increase," Antony.

Antony pointed out that expenditure on defense would increase significantly because the defense forces modernization program will require expensive equipment from various countries.
