Handset maker, Sony Ericsson has announce the launch of its new Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro smartphones in its Xperia series.

The new smartphones are powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and run on Android Gingerbread 2.3. The Xperia mini and Xperia mini pro offer one of the best imaging and display technology from Sony, including Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and HD video recording (720p).

The users of the two smartphones will have access to more than 200,000 apps on the Android Market while the improved interface displays 16 apps on the home screen. The deivces have a 3inch scratch-resistant, multi-touch glass screen.

The Xperia mini pro model has an optimised slide-out keyboard. The Smart Keyboard enables the device to predict messaging actions automatically when the user slides out the keyboard. The Xperia mini pro comes with Office Suite and McAfee antivirus software.
