Sona Group plans expansionThe leading component maker in the Indian market, Sona Group has recently pushed the accelerator pedal very hard and is looking at massive expansion in order to meet the rising demand of the Indian automotive sector.

Sona Group Chairman Surinder Kapur said on the sidelines of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) summit that the Group is looking at investing close to Rs. 80 crore for its expansion plans and expects it to finish by January next year.

Moreover, it is to be mentioned here that the Chairman of the Group also pointed out the fact that the expansion will mainly focus on expanding the capacities of steering columns, steering gears and electronic steerings.

It may be noted here that the Sona Group has close to nine automobile components manufacturing companies and three services companies in its bag and hence is one of the most aggressive component company in the Indian market.

The Group works in close alliance with companies like Maruti Suzuki India Mahindra & Mahindra and JTEKT Corporation of Japan. With the expansion plan in place, perhaps the Group is set to touch new skies.
