Singur Issue Is Still On

The small car project issue is complicating day by day with neither party willing to Singur Issue Is Still Onchange its stance. There were some hope two days ago, when an agreement was announced to break the impasse over Nano project at Singur.

Both Trinmool congress and state government were agreed on the deal evolved after meeting, but TATA expressed displeasure over the deal and separated itself from it.

The state has, now, assured TATA that the government will not touch any part of land acquired for TATA Motors. West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen assured that the government will do each and every thing to resolve the dead lock. He said that the car plant would never be shifted to any other site.

Sen said that the state government had not agreed with the demands of Trinamool Congress during the bilateral talks at Raj Bhavan.

He said that the state had only assured Mamta about the possibility of alternate land for the affected people around the plant. It is recalled that Tata Motors Managing Director Ravi Kant expressed concerns about the agreement which came after the meeting between Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi, TC and state. TATA is not willing to forego any land in and around the mother factory and its ancillary units.
