Shares surge 3.5 per cent in Seoul
Seoul - Shares jumped Thursday on the Seoul stock exchange, buoyed by improving economic indicators. South Korea's currency also jumped against the dollar.
The benchmark Kospi index soared 43.61 points, or 3.5 per cent, to close at 1,276.97.
Advancing issues outnumbered losers 727 to 138.
The main index of the technology-heavy Kosdaq market rose 8.87 points to 439.84.
The US dollar was quoted at 1,334.50 won after 1,379.50 won on Wednesday. dpa
