Saudi Arabia's King Abdul Aziz University for Science and Technology (KAUST) has entered into a pact with US-based Mentor Graphics to jointly promote and develop electronics design technology in the kingdom.

Under the arrangement, the Advanced Microelectronics Technology Centre will be established at KAUST and Mentor will provide comprehensive design automation software as well as consulting and training services.

The centre will offer three programs that will contribute to the Saudi National Strategic Plan; Advanced Technology Program; Professional Training Program; and the Incubation Support Program.

Further as a part of the agreement, the company will cooperate with government bodies and extend its university outreach programs in the country.
