Salaries across India Inc will rise over 10% this year: surveySalaries across India Inc will increase by slightly more than 10 per cent this year, according to a survey carried out by global human resource consulting firm Aon Hewitt.

The survey showed that average increments in India will be 10.3 per cent.  The estimated figure is lower than the 10.7 per cent given in 2012, but it is in sync with the projected economic growth of 5 per cent.

The survey of 518 organizations across twenty industries and thirty sub classifications also revealed that workers involved in pharmaceutical sector are expected to enjoy the biggest increment at 13.5 per cent.

Life sciences, medical devices, consumer business and the FMCG sector are expected to dole out increments of 13.1 per cent, 12.6 per cent, 11.8 per cent and 12.3 per cent, respectively.

With increment growth of10.3 per cent, India will rank among the top five countries globally.  Companies in Venezuela will enjoy the highest increment of 25.6 per cent; companies in Argentina, Vietnam and Tanzania will dole out increments of 24.2 per cent, 12.6 per cent and 10.6 per cent, respectively.

On the other hand, traditional heavyweight will dole out very small increments in salaries.  For instance, companies in the U.  S. and the U.  K. will increase workers' salaries by an average of 2.7 per cent and 3 per cent, respectively.  Chinese companies will increase salaries by 9.3 per cent.

The global average salary increment for the current year will be in the estimated range of 7-12 per cent.
