With the rise in dollar index, Crude oil prices comes downDropping below $80 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil prices fell on Monday, as the dollar index rose 0.5 percent.

Losing $1.37, April delivery, light, sweet crude settled at $79.87 per barrel. Heating oil prices shed 0.031 cents to $2.063 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blend stock lost 0.03 cents to $2.225 per gallon.

However adding 0.004 cents , Henry Hub natural gas prices ended the day at $4.404 per million British thermal units.

According to AAA, at the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline was $2.79 per gallon Monday, up from Sunday's $2.789. (With Inputs From Agencies)
