RIL criticizes Anil's outburst

RelianceReliance Industries Ltd (RIL), breaking its silence over the gas supply dispute, has condemned Anil Ambani's comments against the government, saying that the comments have been made to malign the image of Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL).

RIL observed: "During the course of his media campaign, Anil Ambani has also made several personal comments about his elder brother and chairman of RIL, Mukesh Ambani. While Mukesh Ambani is profoundly saddened by his brother's remarks, he requests media to respect his decision not to respond."

Anil Ambani, the chairman of RNRL, said that the comments, led by corporate greed, personal vendetta and 3Cs, have deeply distressed him. Atul Chandra, president of RIL's international business, said, "Anil Ambani and his associates have attempted to convert what are essentially legal issues into public issues for a self-serving media campaign aimed at maligning RIL, as also other venerable institutions of the country for private and personal gain."

Both Brothers Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani are fighting a legal battle in the Supreme Court over the issue of supply and pricing issue of the gas obtained from the Krishna-Godavari basin located on the east coast.
