Regular Intake Of Yogurt Can Cut Risk Of Bladder Cancer

Regular Intake Of Yogurt Can Cut Risk Of Bladder CancerAccording to statistics, 10,000 people in Britain are diagnosed with the bladder cancer every year.

A recent research showed that intake of two pots of yogurt every day could cut the risk of developing bladder cancer by 40 per cent. This study by was done by the researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

In the study, researchers followed 80,000 patients over nine years. Findings reveal that a couple of yogurts a day reduced the risk of developing the disease in women by 45 per cent and in men by 36 per cent. Intake of other dairy products didn’t show same effect.

Researchers said that cultured milk products, such as yogurt, contain lactic acid bacteria, which have been shown to suppress bladder cancer in rats. This research suggests that a high intake (of yogurt in humans) may reduce the risk.
