Washington, Mar 5 : Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon is heading a new campaign to end violence against women.

The Walk The Line star, who's a global ambassador for cosmetics brand Avon and an honorary chairperson of the Avon Foundation for Women, is urging people to support the drive by purchasing the Avon Women''s Empowerment Necklace, worth 5 dollars.

All the money from the jewellery sales will be donated to domestic violence programmes.

Washington, Mar 5 : Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon has revealed that her divorce with actor Ryan Phillippe was humiliating and isolating.

In an interview to Elle magazine, the 32-year-old actress said that even the efforts to console her were far from helpful.

"When people get in your face and say, ''This will pass,'' you think: Are they crazy? I''m never gonna feel any better than I feel right this minute and nothing''s ever gonna make sense again," People magazine quoted Witherspoon as saying.

Washington, Mar 5 : After moving out from the Playboy mansion and her subsequent split with beau Criss Angel, Holly Madison is now all set to appear on the new season of ''Dancing With the Stars'', according to Bridget Marquardt.

Appearing on Fox''s Web talk show ''The Strategy Room'', Marquardt announced that her former ''Girls Next Door'' co-star was set to fulfil a long-time dream to be on DWTS.

Marquardt revealed that Madison could not appear on the show earlier due to scheduling issues, and because her ex-beau Hugh Hefner did not want her to be part of the programme.

Washington, Mar 5 : Oscar-winning movie ''Slumdog Millionaire'' has crossed the 200 million dollar mark at the international box office.

According to early weekend estimates, Danny Boyle''s flick came second at the global box office in the wake of its Oscar wins, behind Warner Bros.'' ''The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.''

''Slumdog Millionaire'', which tracks the journey of an 18-year-old boy from rags-to-riches, has won eight Oscars out of the 10 categories it was nominated for, reports Variety.

Washington, March 5: In a move which would be taken positively by advocates of world peace, a team of engineers has developed a technique to “denature” plutonium created in large nuclear reactors, making it unsuitable for use in nuclear arms.

Developed by engineers at the Ben-Gurion University (BGU) of the Negev in Israel, the technique involves adding Americium (Am 241) in plutonium so it can only be used for peaceful purposes.

Americium is a form of the basic synthetic element found in commercial smoke detectors and industrial gauges.
