Washington, March 18 : One of Los Angeles'' most plush houses seems to have caught the eye of celebrity couple Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, who have reportedly made an offer to buy the place.

The pair, who were previously reported to be house hunting, were said to have picked the palatial Saperstein Estate in Holmby Hills to be their new bode.

The French Chateau-style home was up for grabs in the market for a staggering 125 million dollars, according to reports.

However, the duo's alleged offered price was yet to be revealed.

Washington, Mar 18: A new study by researchers at the University of Warwick has shown that there is no clear link between lack of vitamin D and depression.

Lack of Vitamin D has been related to depression and the symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

Exposure to sunlight stimulates vitamin D in the skin and a shortage of sunlight in the winter has been put forward as one possible cause of SAD.

Washington, Mar 18: Contrary to widely held beliefs, romantic love can last a lifetime and lead to happier, healthier relationships, a new study has found.

"Many believe that romantic love is the same as passionate love," said lead researcher Bianca P. Acevedo, PhD, then at Stony Brook University (currently at University of California, Santa Barbara).

After meeting US climate envoy Todd Stern in Washington this week, the EU's key environment ministers said it would be up to US legislators to improve the country's bargaining position by the time the world's climate officials meet to discuss a new global deal in Copenhagen in December.

Washinton - A group of scientists who worked on the Phoenix Mars lander last year say they have found evidence of liquid salt water on the red planet.

An analysis of photographs from the lander that explored Mars for six months shows drops of what could be salty, liquid water on the legs of the lander.

They believe the droplets were kicked up from just below the planet's surface when Phoenix landed in May and say they grew and merged over time much as water particles would do.

Washington  - US President Barack Obama praised the people of Northern Ireland for rejecting violence and standing up for peace against "those who would seek to destroy it."

Obama spoke at a White House ceremony Tuesday to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with the traditional visit by the Irish prime minister, Brian Cowen.

The meeting comes as authorities in Northern Ireland continue to investigate the murders of two British soldiers and a policeman by an extremist splinter group associated with the now disbanded Irish Republican Army (IRA).
