Rescue workers still struggle to save 2-year-old boy from borewellLehrakapura (UP), Oct 12 : Rescue workers struggled in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday to save a two-year-old child, who fell into a 150-feet deep narrow bore well.

The rescue operation, which has been going on for more than three-days in Lehrakapura village, have still not yielded any positive result and chances of the child''s survival seem thin.

Two-year-old Sonu has fallen into the uncovered bore well on Thursday in Lehrakapura village near Shamsabad town, 26 km from Agra.

Efforts to save two-year-old boy from borewell suffers set backLehrakapura (UP), Oct 12 : Patience of the villagers in Uttar Pradesh wore thin as rescue operations to save a two-year-old boy who fell into a 150-feet deep narrow borewell did not yield any positive result.

Rescue operations are on to save Sonu who fell into the uncovered borewell on Thursday in Lehrakapura village near Shamsabad town, 26 km from Agra.

The work suffered due to constant mudslide in a parallel well being dug up to pull out the child.

Flood-hit UP villagers migrating due to administrative apathy

Uttar PradeshFaizabad (Uttar Pradesh), Oct. 8 : Land erosion caused by the recent floods in Uttar Pradesh and administrative apathy have compelled several residents of Mudadiha Village in Faizabad District to abandon their homes and land.

The glairing administrative apathy in the wake of floods has left the villagers fearful about their future.

According to the villagers, the officials are not bothered with their repeated pleas for help.

Ajay Katara sent to 14-day judicial custody

Ghaziabad, Oct. 3 : Ajay Katara, a key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case, was on Friday sent to 14-days judicial custody by a Ghaziabad court.

Police in Ghaziabad arrested Katara late on Thursday night on charges of kidnapping.

He is currently in the Indrapur police station and is accused of trying to kidnap a distant relative of Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav, the father of Vikas Yadav, who has been sentenced to life for the murder of Nitish Katara.

Nitish, a young management student, was killed six years ago. Vikas and Vishal Yadav, the son and nephew of Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav, were found guilty of the murder and sentenced to life in jail.
