‘Obama’s 10-point lead now “historically” beyond McCain to overcome’

Barack ObamaWashington, Oct 13 : With Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama taking a comfortable ten point-lead over his Republican rival John McCain as per the latest poll, he is all but set to ride the wave to the White House, as historically this kind of a lead in October has proven to be unbeatable in the past.

While there are few signs of progress for McCain in the poll, “recent history suggests that mid-October leads are vulnerable, although turning around a late double-digit deficit would be unprecedented in the modern era,” says a report in the Washington Post.

Palin must save her Yahoo mails, says judge

Anchorage (Alaska), Oct. 13 : An Anchorage judge has ordered Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to preserve e-mails from private accounts she has used to conduct state business.

Superior Court Judge Craig Stowers on Friday also ordered Alaska''s attorney general to recover messages from a Yahoo. com account of Palin''s that was breached by hackers last month, reports The Washington Post.

That break-in prompted Sen. John McCain''s presidential campaign to order closed at least one additional private account Palin maintained.

Obama could offer McCain a job if he wins the election

Rousing a crowd estimated by the police at 6,000 on an otherwise quiet day on the campaign trail, Biden said McCain’s campaign had become erratic, a reference to McCain’s changing positions on the financial crisis and his decision two weeks ago to suspend his campaign briefly to deal with it.

No new economic policy from McCain unless warranted, say advisers
