Gwyneth-PaltrowWashington, Feb 13 : Rumours are rife that Gwyneth Paltrow has converted to Kabbalah, after she stepped out in New York wearing a bracelet of her best friend Madonna''s faith.

The rumours were sparked after she attended a New York screening of her new movie `Two Lovers' on February 11, wearing a red string bracelet on her wrist.

Kabbalah texts cite that the bracelets protect wearers from negative forces and the "Evil Eye," reports Contactmusic.

The `Shakespeare in Love' star has been spending a lot of time with Madonna, since the `Material Girl' parted ways from husband Guy Ritchie.

Janet Jackson inks record deal with Live Nation?

Janet JacksonWashington, Feb 13 : Pop singer Janet Jackson has reportedly signed a record deal with concert giant Live Nation.

The 42-year-old star cancelled her contract with Island Records in September last year after her album Discipline failed to impress her fans.

The new deal with Live Nation will encompass her album and concert plans, reports Contactmusic.

Other celebs attached to Live Nation include Jay-Z, Shakira and U2.

Meanwhile, the Nasty hitmaker has already working on a follow-up to the 2008 album flop, and has reunited with her mentor, producer Jimmy Jam, to take charge of her next project.

Soon, optical sensor that keeps tabs on terrorists by remote control

Washington, Feb 13 : Scientists at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), US, are designing a new kind of optical sensor to be deployed in unmanned air vehicles, that could someday keep tabs on terrorists by remote control.

The new optical sensor, which would fly in unmanned air vehicles, or surveillance drones, would track suspects on foot or traveling in vehicles identified as a threat.

"The Air Force has clearly recognized the change in the threat that we have," said John Kerekes, associate professor in RIT's Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science.

US intelligence chief says Pak losing control of border areas

PakistanWashington, Feb. 13 : The new director of national intelligence in the United States, Dennis C. Blair has reiterated that no significant improvement in Afghanistan is possible unless Pakistan regains control of its own border areas.

According to the New York Times, Blair told the Senate Intelligence Committee that Islamabad was losing authority over that territory and that even more developed parts of Pakistan were coming under the sway of Islamic radicalism.

He also warned that the global economic turmoil and the instability it could ignite had outpaced terrorism as the most urgent threat facing the United States.
