London, Mar. 27 : A survey has found that London High Court judges are "considerably annoyed" about having new robes "foisted" on them, and there is "strong support" for abandoning the new robes.

The new robes, unveiled last May as part of a package of measures to simplify court working dress, immediately drew scornful comments.

London, Mar. 27 : British Foreign Office Minister Lord Malloch-Brown has warned leaders of the world''s biggest economies yesterday to produce more than empty rhetoric at the crucial G20 summit in London next week.

London, Mar 27 : Ian McKellen’s nude scene from US television broadcast of his ‘King Lear’ has been chopped off, leaving the actor full of frustration.

The legendary actor played the Shakespeare character on an 18-month-long RSC world tour.

However, when the PBS channel screened a TV adaptation of the play on March 25, it had cut the star’s brief nude scene.

“The channel has its rules,” the Daily Express quoted McKellen as saying.

He added: “It’s all right to see someone have their eyes gouged out but it’s not right to see an old man with his trousers down.”

London, Mar 27 : A 78-year-old man chased away two burglars with a bugle, when they tried to rob his house.

Alex Wade, a bachelor who lives alone in Coventry, West midlands, did not know that his idea of keeping a bugle by his pillow incase of an emergency would come handy one day, as it helped him chase away two young burglars with it.

Wade revealed that the burglars broke into his house through a window at about 2:40 am, but had to run away empty-handed when he sounded the bugle on the face of one of the burglars.

Gavin is thrilled to have his son accompany him on his tour for the first time.
