London, Apr 20 : "Beer goggles" should not become an excuse for men getting a woman''s age wrong, and indulging in sex with underage girls, according to a study.

Scientists first identified the idea of "beer goggles" in the early 1990s when it was dubbed "alcohol myopia", which meant that most men overestimated women''s ages after getting drunk.

But, University of Leicester researchers have revealed that men tend to overrate a women''s age regardless if they are drunk or not.

This study is another piece in the jigsaw in helping to understand why South Asians are at higher risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.

For the study, the daily routines of 2,000 children aged nine and 10 in Birmingham, London and Leicester were examined. African-Caribbean and white European children also took part in the study.

The dog''s owner died suddenly from a suspected heart attack just before Christmas last year, at her home in Great Harwood, Lancs.

The dog, aged 4, will now be cared for by a friend of Miss Frankland''s, using the interest on the legacy to keep it in the lap of luxury for the rest of its life.
