'Rotis and Naans’ shrivel in size due to soaring inflation in Pakistan

London, July 21: The car chase in ‘The Italian Job’ has been voted the ‘Best Car Chase Of All Movies’ in a new poll of filmgoers.

The 1969 pursuit follows three Mini Coopers around the streets of Turin, Italy, at break-neck speed.

‘The Blues Brothers’, which features a huge pile-up finale, was placed second in the survey, conducted for cinema advertisers Pearl & Dean.

According to Sky News, ‘The Bourne Identity’, again involving a Mini, stood third, while 1998 action-thriller film Ronin came fourth.

Rounding off the top five was Bullitt, a 1968 police thriller film starring Steve McQueen.

Former Pakistan Army Chief General Mirza Aslam BaigRawalpindi, June 14 : Former Pakistan Army Chief General (retired) Mirza Aslam Baig has urged President Pervez Musharraf to leave the Presidency as he was not a constitutional president.

Dawn quoted Baig as saying in a press conference at Liaquat Bagh before joining the long march of the lawyers that the country has been on a standstill for the last few months due to the unconstitutional steps taken by Musharraf and these steps have paved the way for a social revolution as the people are now aware of their rights.

Pak’s ISPR rejects allegation that ISI aiding Afghan insurgent groups

Rawalpindi, June 11 : ISPR (Inter Services Public Relations), the press and publicity wing of Pakistan’s armed forces, has rejected the allegation mentioned in the US’ RAND (Research And Development) Corporation report that the Frontier Corps (FC) and the intelligence agency ISI were providing assistance to the insurgent groups coming from across the border (read Afghanistan).

The spokesman termed the report titled “Counter Insurgency in Afghanistan” a yet another ‘smear campaign’ to malign the Pakistan armed forces and create differences as well as misunderstanding among the coalition partners.
