Pak female mobile users bugged by rise in wrong calls

Pak female mobile Islamabad, Feb 9 : Female mobile phone subscribers in Pakistan have been increasingly complaining of a rise in instances of getting wrong calls from unknown numbers for the last few months.

Many women revealed that they even got wrong calls on their phones within hours after the activation of their new SIMs.

"When I activated my new SIM and no one even my close friends were aware of my new number, I started receiving wrong calls from unknown numbers," the News quoted Neelma Kayani, a student at a local university operating in Blue Area, as saying.

While speaking to the reporters in Qasim Bela, Gilani termed the Indian plans to get Pakistan declared a `terrorist state' as wishful thinking, and said Pakistan's diplomacy and foreign policy would not allow India to succeed, the Daily Times reports.

Have Ajmal Kasab’s associates been arrested in Karachi?Karachi, Feb. 9 : Pakistani Intelligence agencies have claimed that they have arrested three men for their alleged links to Ajmal Kasab, the surviving terrorists involved in the November 26 to 29 terror attacks on Mumbai.

The Daily Times sources disclosed that Federal Investigation Agency in collaboration with other intelligence agencies had detained three men from different parts of Karachi for their alleged association with Kasab.

The detainees were reportedly taken to Islamabad where an investigation was in progress.

18 policemen injured in Bannu suicide attack

Bannu, Feb. 9 : Eighteen policemen were injured in a suicide attack in Bannu District of North West Frontier Province on Monday.

According to The News, a suicide bomber exploded his car at the Baranpul police checkpoint on Miranshah road injuring 18 policemen, who were stationed there.

The explosion damaged the building of the check post. 16 out of the eighteen injured policemen were FC officials. The injured were shifted to district hospital of Bannu.

DSP Tahir Dawar has confirmed that 11 officials sustained injuries and added that the security has been tightened after the blast.

Pak MPs to probe falling standards of cricket in countryKarachi, Feb 9: A parliamentary committee on sports will probe on Monday the falling standards of Pakistani cricket and the controversy behind the resignation of the PCB's director general Jeved Miandad.

The committee has summoned team management, former director general Javed Miandad and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials for the meeting in capital Islamabad.

Pakistan suffered their heaviest one-day defeat by 234 runs against Sri Lanka in the series-deciding one-day match in Lahore last month, The News reported.
