Pak military training program was never a ‘secret’ affair, claims PentagonWashington, Feb. 24: Confirming reports about its team imparting military lessons to the Pakistani army, the Pentagon has rejected claims that its military training program in Pakistan was a `secret' affair.

"The training effort with the (Pakistan) Frontier Corps is not a secret," Pentagon spokesperson, Bryan Whitman said.

Whitman said the program has been openly discussed and going on for months, and was not any undercover mission as claimed by a US daily.

FBI team to visit Pakistan on Feb. 27 to grill Lakhvi, Zarar ShahIslamabad, Feb 24: A seven member FBI team is arriving here on February 27 to grill the Mumbai terror attacks masterminds arrested by Pakistani authorities in order to establish the authenticity of Pakistan's findings and get further information from the 26/11 accused.

The FBI team will interact with officials of FIA and Interior Ministry to discuss the findings of their probe into the Mumbai attacks.

FBI Director Robert Mueller is also expected to visit Islamabad on March 4, The News reported.

Pakistani forces kill 10 militants in Khyber tribal area

Islamabad  - Pakistani security officials claimed on Monday to have killed 10 militants in the country's restless tribal district along the Afghan border.

Helicopter gunships and artillery shells targeted a militants' location in the Khyber area, which serves as a vital route for supplies for NATO troops deployed in landlocked Afghanistan, said an official from Frontier Corps, the paramilitary troops fighting the Taliban.

"Our forces destroyed their communication system, 15 vehicles and killed 10 of their men," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
