NewYork-based IntraLinks has entered into a strategic alliance with Western Press Pvt. Ltd., a major corporate printer in India.

Under the arrangement, Western Press will market IntraLinks exclusively in India, focusing on companies operating in the financial markets.

New York - Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Tuesday that 44 swine flu cases have been confirmed in New York City, making it the largest cluster of flu cases in the United States, even though all cases are mild and everyone is recovering. Bloomberg said he expects new cases to be confirmed in the coming days as tests continue on students with severe symptoms at Saint Francis High School in Queens, where all the cases originated. The school remained closed Wednesday.

Manhattan, Apr 28 : The head of the US Central Command, General David Petraeus, has said that insurgents and the Taliban have been able to regroup and find safe havens in Pakistan's tribal areas along the Afghanistan border.

He said that a comprehensive approach is required to win the war in Afghanistan, with support from the NATO and Pakistan.

Addressing a function here, General Petraeus said: "The enemy is resilient and as is the case has sanctuary across the border and is able to reconstitute itself."

New York, Apr. 28 : The latest New York Times/ CBS News poll claims that the Barack Obama presidency is seeking to alter the public perception of race relations in the United States.

According to the poll, three out of five Americans now say race relations are generally good, and the percentage of blacks who say so has doubled since last July.

New York - Verizon Communications Inc, the second-largest US phone company, had better-than-expected profits of about 3.2 billion dollars in the first quarter as customers laid out more money for text messaging and other services. Sales rose 12 per cent to 26.6 billion dollars, bolstered by the purchase of Alltel Corp. But global business revenues dropped 3.4 per cent as companies fired workers and delayed new purchases, Bloomberg financial news service reported.
