Ex-Minister Sukhram granted bail in disproportionate assets case

Court to pronounce quantum of sentence to SukhramNew Delhi, Apr 22 : The Delhi High Court on Wednesday granted bail to former Union Minister Sukhram, who was sentenced to three years imprisonment, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

On February 25, a Delhi court had sentenced Sukhram to three years imprisonment in the case. A court also imposed a fine of Rs two lakh on Sukhram.

The court had suspended his sentence for two months giving an opportunity for him to appeal in the High Court against his conviction.

Girl Dies After Asthmatic Attack; School Faces AngerAkriti Bhatia, a class XII student of Modern School, Vasant Vihar in New Delhi, died after having an asthma attack in the school premises on Tuesday.

Following this, the school is facing the rage as the family members and friends of the girl blamed school authorities for reacting late in taking her to the hospital.

The 17-years-old Aakriti Bhatia died on her way to the hospital.

However, the school authorities denied there was any delay from their side.
 

Ex-General U C Dubey passes away

New Delhi, Apr. 21: Major General UC Dubey (retired) has passed away on Tuesday.

General Dubey was amongst the first batch to join the Rashtriya Indian Military College in 1922.

He was amongst the three cadets selected for commissioned officers training at Royal Military College, Sandhurst (UK).

Taking over the Command of 2nd Dogra, he led the battalion into Kashmir valley to successfully fight against the Pakistani marauders in November 1947.
