Kathmandu, Apr 12 : Taking responsibly for the defeat of the Communist Party of Nepal-United Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) in the Constituent Assembly elections, party’s general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal on Saturday announced resignation from his post.
According to sources, Nepal vowed to resign as the party chief during an informal meeting of the central committee of his party.
Kathmandu, Apr 12 : Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) chairman Prachanda on Saturday won Kathmandu constituency-10 seat of the Constituent Assembly with his party taking an initial lead in seat counts
Prachanda won his seat with a huge margin. An official announcement for the same would be made shortly.
Prachanda, or Puhpa Kamal Dahal, secured 20,499 votes, almost double than his close rival Rajendra Kumar K. C of the Nepali Congress who got 11,103 votes.
Along with Prachanda, another Maoist leader and minister in Koirala cabinet Hisila Yami has retained his Kathmandu constituency-7 seat.
