Protests over land transfer row spreadsChandigarh/Lucknow, August 12 : The protests over the Amarnath shrine land transfer row have spilled over to other parts of the country, after having paralyzed life in Jammu and Kashmir where they originated.

Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists took to the streets in Lucknow today shouting slogans against the land transfer revocation order.

The situation turned violent as the protesters clashed with the police, which resorted to baton charge to disperse the mob.

BJP not to allow demolition of Ram Setu

Lucknow, Aug 3 :BJP President Rajnath Singh BJP President Rajnath Singh has said that he will not allow the UPA Government to go ahead with a Sethusamudram shipping canal project which hurts Hindu sentiments.

Addressing a rally here on Saturday, Singh said that the State and Central Governments were pursuing the project without searching for any viable alternative.

"A solution can be found without demolishing the Ram Setu but it looks that the state''s ruling Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) and Central Government, which are allies are adamant on demolishing it at any cost. But we will not allow them," he added.

The skins were recovered from forests bordering the Manikpur-Chitrakoot belt on Friday, they said, adding that the smugglers planned to sell the skins in the international market.

Muslims declare they have no grudge against Indo-US Nuke deal

New Delhi/ Lucknow, July 8 : Today, while committing his party’s support to the Congress-led UPA government in the Capital after the Left pull out, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh claimed that the Muslims across Uttar Pradesh had welcomed the Indo-US nuclear deal and that they were not against it.

He claimed that Muslims from Deoband, Barelvi, Kanpur, Lucknow and Muzaffarnagar had welcomed the deal in “national interest”, thereby contradicting media reports over the past few days suggesting that the deal was being opposed by the Muslims because it were to be inked with the ‘hegemonic’ US.
