London, Jan 13: Brit singer songwriter Chris Martin, who wants to sign on Girls Aloud for one of Coldplay's summer shows, has roped in his wife Gwyneth Paltrow for help in convincing the girls.
Martin, 31, had called up Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle individually to ask if they would open for his band at Wembley Stadium on September 18.
When he was on the phone to Cole, 36-year-old Paltrow took the handset from him and sang a few lines from their 2002 hit Sound Of The Underground.
"The girls were buzzing to get a personal call from Chris," the Sun quoted a source as saying.

London, Jan 13: Wrappers and cups from McDonald''s meals make up the largest proportion of litter on Britain''s streets, according to a new survey.
The study, conducted by Keep Britain Tidy, looked at litter in 10 cities aover two days in the first attempt to discover which brand names were most commonly discarded.
It was found that fast food litter was second to cigarette ends in littering the country's streets and 29 per cent of that was from McDonald's restaurants, followed by boxes and cups from unbranded kebab and fast food shops.
Greggs the bakers generated almost a fifth of the fast food litter, followed by Kentucky Fried Chicken, Subway and a number of coffee brands.

In a study of highly pressured London traders, the Cambridge University scientists found that people who had long ring fingers in relation to their index fingers made far greater profits than their counterparts.
The trait - which is linked to higher exposure to testosterone in the womb - is thought to be associated with attributes such as confidence, risk-taking ability, extra vigilance and quick reactions.
The study suggests that such qualities could provide traders making snap decisions on high-risk deals with a competitive edge.
