PML-N not to part ways with PPP till year-endLahore, July 25 : The PML-N, the outside supporter of the PPP-led coalition government in Pakistan, has said that it would wait till the year-end for the judges’ issue to be resolved, and in case it remained unresolved it might decide to pull out its support completely.

A party official said that there was no immediate possibility of the PML-N parting ways with the PPP on judges’ issue as it is ready to wait for its resolution till December.

Lahore, July 25 : UN probe into Benazir’s murder against Pak’s sovereignty, says petitionA political leader in Pakistan, said to be belonging to a nationalist party, is learnt to have moved the country’s Supreme Court against the federal government’s move to go for UN probe and spending nearly Rs 700 crore rupees on the same.

The petitioner, Watan Party’s Punjab president Hashim Shaukat Khan, contended that if the probe was conducted by the UN, people will lose confidence in the country’s investigating and legal institutions.

Pak journalist says Sharif brothers be held responsible if he is killed

Lahore, July 25 : A top journalist in Lahore has said that he feared for his life, and that in case he was killed, Sharif brothers – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and ex-premier Nawaz Sharif – should be held responsible.

He said the duo was behind his life because he was privy to a meeting between Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and ex-PM Nawaz Sharif in 1989 when the international fugitive gave the latter Rs1.5 billion to topple Benazir Bhutto government.

There was a long tale of Nawaz’ corruption ranging from ‘Yellow Cab’ scheme, to ‘Motorway Project’ and from ‘Raiwind Palace’ to ‘LDA Plots’, the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

JI warns US against attack on Pak

Lahore, July 25 : Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Qazi Hussain AhmadJamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad has reportedly warned the US against attacking Pakistan, and added that if Washington committed this “foolish mistake”, every Pakistani would give a befitting reply.

He said that the JI would mobilise Pakistanis against the American designs, and would welcome all the forces joining that cause. “Leaderships of Iran and China would also be consulted in this regard,” the Daily Times quoted him as saying.

Lahore, July 24 : PML-Q chief Shujaat Hussain says PPP has set aside Benazir’s visionPML-Q president and former Pakistan premier, Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that the present PPP-led Government was no more following its slain leader Benazir Bhutto’s policy and vision.

He said that had Benazir been alive today, the country would not be facing its current crises.

Shujaat said this while addressing his party workers in Lahore.

Lahore, July 24 : Asif Ali Zardari fears sacked chief justice might threaten Govt if reinstatedPPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly refused to reinstate the sacked chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, apparently due to the fear that the latter, if reinstated, might reopen for adjudication cases on the National Reconciliation Order and President Pervez Musharraf’s eligibility to contest for office.

During a meeting of leaders of the ruling coalition in Lahore last evening, Zardari repeatedly insisted on not reinstating Chaudhry, reported the Daily Times.
