All-party Indian delegation to brief Obama aides on Kashmir, CBMsNew Delhi, Nov 8: If official sources are to be believed, an all-party Indian delegation, which was earlier meant to participate only in the meetings of a UN Committee in New York, has also been assigned the task of apprising US President-elect Barack Obama’s key aides about the Kashmir dispute and confidence building measures
(CBMs) between India and Pakistan.

VHP accuses centre of bias in terror investigationNew Delhi, Nov 8 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has blamed the Central Government of being biased to Hindus caught in terrorist attack case.

Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra has arrested Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur for her suspected involvement in September 29 blasts in Malegaon, in which five people were killed.

The ATS arrested five people including Hindu activists and two retired army officials for their suspected role in the blast.

Modi invites tech industry to Gujarat  Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi asked Indian Information Technology (IT) to follow the foot steps of Nano and invest in the state. The state would extend all facilities and create industry friendly environment for the IT industry.

He was addressing the ICT event held in Bangalore. Modi asked for the need to come out of comfortable zone and engage in product manufacturing.

He also asked IT industry to reinvest in research and development activities to produce sustainable products. He said that services may offer low profit but product manufacturing can offer high earning.

The party wants enquiry into the 2G spectrum allocation by the union telecom ministry. CPI alleged that spectrum is allotted at very lower prices than the prevailing market prices causing loss of about Rs. 60,000 crore to the national exchequer.

PM to leave for Oman, Qatar on three-day visit today

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, Nov 8 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is leaving for a three-day visit to Oman and Qatar on Saturday afternoon.

The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high level delegation. On the first leg of his visit Dr. Singh will hold talks with the Sultan of Oman, Qaboos Bin Al-Sayed, and other leaders on various issues.

This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Qatar.

Energy security and welfare of Indian citizens in the Gulf region will be high on the agenda of talks between Dr. Singh and leaders of Oman and Qatar.

The model, priced at 11.7 million rupees, is equipped with an engine displacement of 4,163cc, a power output of 309 kW (420 hp) at 7,800 rpm and a maximum torque 430 Nm between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm.
