CBI hunts origin of ''false'' report on Mulayam SinghNew Delhi, March 26 : The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday revealed that it was probing the origin of a "false, fabricated and forged" report which stated that the Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav had been "framed" in a disproportionate assets case.

CBI Director Ashwani Kumar said the agency would investigate the origin of the "report", which was claimed to be an internal report of the agency, and as to how it reached the media.

Sensex crosses 10,000-points mark for first time since January 2009Mumbai, Mar 26 : The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex on Thursday crossed 10,000-points marks for the first time since January 2009.

At 3 p. m., Sensex was at a high of 10,010.42 points, up 3.54 percent or 342.52 points.

The National Stock Exchange's Nifty also rose by 73.95 points to 3058.30 points.

The BSE Midcap Index was up 1.27 per cent and the BSE Smallcap Index rose 0.8 per cent.

Tandon has been associated with the PETA for the last 15 years.

"This campaign is basically against leather and leather products. We think it as a style statement but actually the way it is made and the way we use it, it harms us," she said.

Indian equities up by over 3 per cent

Indian equities up by over 3 per centNew Delhi - Indian share markets gained by over 3 per cent Thursday tailing a global rally.

The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange crossed the psychological 10,000 level to close at 10003.10 points, about 3.47 per cent above Wednesday's close.

The broader S&P CNX Nifty closed at 3082.25, about 3.28 per cent above its previous close.

The markets gained for the fourth successive day as inflation figures of 0.27 per cent for the week ended March 14 raised expectations of rate cuts and further liquidity flow into the market.
