New Delhi, Mar. 27 : If the Congress'' controversial Jai ho campaign was not enough to the steal the show on the campaign trail, the party is soon going to launch Jai Ho 2.

Bollywood''s singing sensation Sukhwinder Singh will be singing for Jai Ho 2 for the Congress and has also done the lyrics of the high profile campaign according to the Amitava Mitra , Director of the Jai Ho campaign at Percept Holding.

New Delhi, Mar 27 : James Otis, the US based collector and auctioneer of ''s personal belongings, today asserted that the purpose behind the auction was to remind the world about Gandhi''s greatness.

Addressing a news conference here, Otis, who sparked a row by putting up for auction Gandhi''s belongings earlier this month, apologized for unintentionally hurting Indian sentiments and asserted that the purpose of the auction was to remind the people about his teachings.

New Delhi, Mar 27 : The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Election Commission to allot common symbols to the Praja Rajyam, Lok Satta and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) for upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

A bench headed by Chief Justice K. G. Balakrishnan, said that the directions were only for the present elections.

Ahmedabad/New Delhi, Mar 27 : Gujarat Women Development and Child Welfare Minister Mayaben Kodnani, who was forced to resign from the State Ministry as the High Court cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to her, on Friday surrendered.

Kodnani surrendered at the Supreme Court constituted Special Investigation Team''s office (SIT).

Kodnani, a three-time MLA from the Naroda constituency, is an accused in the Naroda Gam and Naroda Patiya massacre cases in which around 95 people were killed in the communal violence of 2002.

New Delhi, Mar 27 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will have his first meeting with United States (US) President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the G-20 summit in London on April 2.

Singh, who is leaving for London on March 31 to attend the summit, will meet Obama and heads of other developed and developing nations and representatives of International Monetary Fund, World Bank and the Asian Development Bank.

Patna, Mar 27 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Friday said that his party and Ram Vilas Paswan led Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) had allied with the Samajwadi Party (SP) President Mulayam Singh only to strengthen the secular bloc and defeat the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Prasad said that they had not formed a front against the UPA.

"I have no hidden agenda and want to make it clear that I am with the UPA and will be in it in the coming days," he added.
