Have faith: Chidambaram The union finance minister P Chidambaram advised the investors to have faith in Indian financial system. The government would take all measures to deal with global financial crisis. It would infuse more liquidity in the monetary system, if needed. He also said that the investors should not act in haste and be confident for better situation.

He also pointed out the strong financial health of country. The union government, reserve bank and SEBI are in touch with each other to deal with the situation. The government is confident about 7 to 8 percent growth in the current fiscal despite global financial pressure.

"Serious" Priyaranjan Dasmunsi kept on ventilator

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan DasmunsiNew Delhi, Oct 14: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi, who was admitted in AIIMS yesterday in a critical condition after suffering from a heart stroke, is being kept on a ventilator.

This is the second stroke Dasmunsi suffered in the past six months.

According to doctors attending to him, he had a "complete left ventricular failure" of the heart when he was admitted.

Shivraj Patil to visit violence-hit Bangalore today

Union Home Minister Shivraj PatilBangalore, Oct 14: Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will arrive here today to review the steps taken to control the violence, following a fresh attack on a church in Bangalore on Monday.

The Archbishop of Bangalore Catholic church is expected to meet Patil with his petition.

Earlier, a two-member Union Home Ministry team visited the state. The team, led by M L Kumawat, Special Secretary (Internal Security), held discussions with the Karnataka Police about the recent attacks on churches in the state.

The book `Guru Granth Sahib – the Eternal Guru'' seeks to spread the message of the Sikh Gurus and Sufi saints among masses.

The book narrates as well as depicts the significance of the holy Sikh scripture.

"This is a time of uncertainty. Yet in a time of uncertainty, some facts cannot and ought not to be ignored," Chidambaram told a press conference, where he noted the Indian economy continued to grow at a satisfactory pace.
