World War I recalled in poignant 90th anniversary tributes London/Paris - Commemorations to mark the 90th anniversary of the end of World War I were held in Britain and France Tuesday, made particularly poignant by the participation of the last survivors in Britain from the conflict branded "the war to end all wars."

In London, Prime Minister Gordon Brown attended a solemn ceremony and two-minute silence at the Cenotaph memorial which were led by the three remaining World War I veterans in Britain whose lives have spanned the entire 20th century.

St Etienne part ways with coach Roussey

Laurent-RousseySt Etienne, France - French first division side St Etienne parted company with coach Laurent Roussey Tuesday as a consequence of the club's recent disastrous run of results.

St Etienne sit in the relegation zone after five defeats in succession.

"Because of the recent performances and certain off-field problems AS St Etienne have concluded it's time to change things," said the club in a statement.

Roussey's assistant Gerard Fernandez takes over in a caretaker capacity at the 10-time French champions while youth trainer Alain Blachon and fitness coach Thierry Cotte have also been retained.

Algeria to vote on constitution change to give president third term

If passed, the 71-year-old president could take up a third five- year term in the spring of 2009.
