EC reviews poll preparations in Karnataka

N GopalswamiBangalore, May 7 : Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy and Election Commissioners Navin Chawla and Dr. S Y Quraishi on Wednesday had a meeting with the Election observers in Bangalore.

They also called on the DCs and police officials for the second phase of election.

Later the Chief Election Commissioner told the media, that Central officials will be deputed as micro observers in the sensitive polling booths in addition to the general observers.

Devegowda releases JDS manifestoBangalore, May 5 : Janata Dal Secular Chief H. D Devegowda on Monday presented his party's manifesto in Bangalore, which highlighted his party's projects for the poor, farmers and the minorities in the State.

Devegowda said that his party would not make false promises unlike BJP and Congress who raised slogans of “Garibi Hatao” and “Berozgari Hatao”.
