According to News. com. au, Geoffrey Boycott wrote in The Telegraph that Cook's form is an embarrassment for the team and puts undue pressure on other team members. He also added that the captain should step down from the position on his own if he fails twice in the second test match which is scheduled to begin at Lord's on Thursday.

Dwayne Johnson followed 'laborious diet' regime for 'Hercules'

According to News. com. au, the 42-year-old former wrestler posted a picture on Instagram of his 22-week diet which he followed to get the demigod look.

The diet consisted of measured amounts of protein rich dishes like egg whites, filet mignon, chicken, fish, oatmeal, broccoli, asparagus, a baked potato, cream of rice, and salad.

fifa-world-cup-finalSydney, July 14  : Twitter was reportedly amid a flurry of excitement after an account named ' FIFA Corruption' seemingly predicted the deciding moment of the World Cup finale between Germany and Argentina hours ahead of time.

Germany defeated Argentina by a goal with midfielder Mario Goetze scoring the game's only goal in the 113th minute to guide his side to victory.

According to News. com. au, the Twitter account in question gained thousands of followers since Goetze's goal because it had posted a number of tweets, 14 hours before the final started, that seemed to have predicted the correct outcome.

NASA successfully tests 'saucer shaped' vehicle for future mars missions

The 150 million US Dollars experimental flight was designed to deliver heavier spacecraft and eventually astronauts with a novel vehicle and a giant parachute, News. com. au reported.

Since the twin Viking spacecraft landed on the red planet in 1976, NASA has relied on the same parachute design to slow landers and rovers after piercing through the thin Martian atmosphere.

NASA reckoned the mission a success despite experiencing small problems like the giant parachute not deploying fully.

Australia sends troops to Iraq to protect Baghdad embassy

David-JohnstonMelbourne: Australia today said it has sent a small detachment of soldiers to Iraq to help bolster security at its embassy in Baghdad in the wake of the assault by Islamic militants in the country.

Defence Minister David Johnston said the defence liaison force is being deployed to protect embassy staff and evacuate them if necessary, not to help Iraqi forces battling militants who have seized large swathes of the country's north in the past two weeks.

He did not confirm how many personnel have been sent for security reasons.

New Delhi has dirtiest air among 1600 cities: WHOSydney, May 8 - World Health Organisation has revealed that New Delhi is the most polluted city in the world.

The international organization, which measured pollution in cities around the world, found that Beijing's pollution measurements is far more less than that of New Delhi, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Thirteen of the dirtiest 20 cities were Indian, which included New Delhi, Patna, Gwalior and Raipur in the top four spots, while the Indian capital had an annual average of 153 micrograms of small particulates, known as PM2.5, per cubic metre.

Distant tiny spinning star discovered

spinning-starMelbourne, May 7 : Using the ‘empty’ space between stars and galaxies that is made up of sparsely spread charged particles as a giant lens, researchers have made a measurement of a distant rotating neutron star that is believed to be the most precise till now.

The new measurement is one million times more precise than the previous world’s best.

Neutron stars were particularly interesting objects to study, as some of them - called pulsars - gave off pulsed radio waves whose beams swept across telescopes at regular intervals.
