Rahul Gandhi interacts with tribal kids at night
Sargur(Karnataka), Mar. 26 : Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi spent more than an hour and a half with tribal children at the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement(SVYM) at Sargur, a tribal area, on Tuesday night, and shared his vision about the future of the country with them.
Gandhi spent time understanding the problems and struggles faced by tribals. In a rare gesture, he planted a medicinal plant on the campus and informally mingled with both children and adults.
He also visited a super speciality 100-bed hospital built in the area for the tribals.
Talking to ANI after his visit, the president of SVYM, Dr. R Balasubramaniyan, said that Gandhi had expressed concerned about the tribals and their development.
It is significant that the Congress is banking on Gandhi’s road show to woo backward class and other downtrodden class votes ahead of the State Assembly elections in May. (ANI)
