Radiohead, Kanye West among superstars to perform at Grammys
Los Angeles - Barack Obama may have been feted by scores of A-list performers at his inaugural festivities, but even the new US president can't compete with the line-up at the Grammy Awards.
The biggest night of the year for the US music industry will take place on February 8 in Los Angeles. It will feature star turns from the likes of Radiohead, which will be making its first live US television performance since 2000, according to a statement Monday.
Paul McCartney will also be performing, backed by the Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl on drums.
In an apparent bid to deflect criticism that the awards show is stuck in a time warp, the live telecast will also feature a a pair of hip hop performances - one featuring TI and Justin Timberlake, and another the hit Swagga Like Us with Jay-Z, Wayne, TI and Kanye West.
Previously announced Grammy performers include Kenny Chesney, Coldplay, Jennifer Hudson, Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood. More performers are expected to be announced in the coming days. (dpa)
