A quick look at 2024 BMW i7’s range, energy consumption & pricing

In a bold leap towards the electric future, German luxury car brand BMW has introduced the 2024 i7 lineup, which boasts an apt blend of innovation, luxury, and sustainability. The 2024 i7 luxury sedan series comprises three distinct versions: the xDrive60, eDrive50, and the high-performance M70, each of which offers a unique driving experience.

Building on the success of its 2023 predecessor, the xDrive60 boasts a starting price tag of $124,200 (excluding a destination charge of $995). This marks an increase of $4,900 from the 2023 model, but the 2024 edition also promises a number of enhanced features and performance. Notably, the lineup's entry-level variant, called the i7 eDrive50, comes with a more accessible price of $105,700. So, it opens the door to a broader audience of EV enthusiasts.

Priced at $168,500, the high-performance M70 variant of the EV takes center stage, thanks to its capability of accelerating from 0 to 60 mile per hour (mph) in a mere 3.7 seconds. However, it is noteworthy that all of the three models maintain a remarkable balance between luxury, performance, and sustainability.

What sets the new electric lineup apart is its impressive driving range, achieved through a massive 105.7-kWh battery. In spite of the EV’s size and weight, the i7 eDrive50 achieves an exceptional driving range of 321 miles on a single charge, making it a leader in the electric luxury sedan segment. The xDrive60 offers a range of 317 miles, while the high-performance M70promises a commendable 274 miles.

When it comes to charging, the i7 promises a seamless experience. As per the manufacturer’s claims, it offers a full recharge within 12 hours and a rapid 10-80 per cent DC fast charging in just around half an hour at up to 195 kilowatts. In addition, the company is offering three years of free 30-minute charging sessions at the Electrify America charging network, further enhancing the i7's allure.

In terms of design, the BMW i7 series maintains the luxury brand’s commitment to aesthetic excellence. The eDrive50's retro-inspired styling, based on the conventional Tennis 125 gasoline-powered scooter, exudes appeal and sophistication. The touch of modernity with features like dual-optic headlights and full-LED DRLs impeccably integrate with the nostalgic design, creating a unique blend of the past and the future. Thus, the 2024 BMW i7 series not only represents a bold step forward in EV technology but also embodies the German brand’s unwavering dedication to delivering a luxury driving experience.
