Publicis acquires Mumbai-based marketing agency Beehive

Publicis acquires Mumbai-based marketing agency BeehiveParis, France-based advertisement conglomerate Publicis Groupe on Tuesday confirmed that it had acquired Mumbai-based marketing & communications agency Beehive Communications.

Publicis Groupe said Beehive would be absorbed with its subsidiary Publicis Worldwide, and that Beehive Communications would operate as a division under the rebranded name Publicis Beehive.

Since mid of 2012, Publicis Groupe has acquired seven Indian companies. For Publicis Worldwide, this deal marks the third acquisition. Previously, it acquired brand marketing consulting agency MarketGate and digital firm iStrat.

Bobby Pawar, Director & Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of South Asia business of Publicis, said, "The acquisition ups our scale; we get to broaden our solutions. Skill-sets in digital, social and mobile power our media executions. That's a great value-add to for clients."

Sanjit Shastri, Founder & CEO of Beehive, said that partnership with Publicis Worldwide would help people who worked hard to develop Brand Beehive. He added that the deal would help them grow and drive their individual careers forward.

Beehive, which has been operating for around a decade, has strong client portfolio in verticals like tourism, education and real estate. It popular brands include Maharashtra Tourism, Gujarat Tourism, Palladium hotel group, Chambor, Maharashtra Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, and Korea Tourism Organization.
