Ace Bollywood beauty Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Indian Premier League’s Mohali team, got hurt during its formal launch in Mohali, on the outskirts of Chandigarh.

Preity said, “I don't know how it happened. But in the melee at the launch an elbow came and hit me straight in the eye. I had to go through the event with a black eye wearing dark glasses.”

Eyewitnesses stated that there was a big rush at the opening, and the crowd was uncontrollable. A person seemed to have thrown away something at Preity, but, one of her bodyguards hurled to catch whatever had been thrown, and his elbow hit Preity in the eye.

After the occasion Preity spent the whole evening nursing her eye with ice bags.

“It will swell a bit. I guess it's bound to happen when one is in such situations,” Preity said.

The IPL Mohali team is led by Yuvraj Singh. The tournament starts April 18.
