Porsche sells 117 cars in India in OctoberPorsche has said that it has sold more than 117 cars in the month of October in India as it started its retail operations in the country.

The company started its first month of retail operations in October as Porsche India started importing cars into the country. The company became a part of Volkswagen Group Sales India Private Limited earlier this year. Before the company had become a part of Volkswagen Group, Porsche cars were sold through an importer Precision Cars India.

Precision Cars India has filed a lawsuit against Porsche Middle East for terminating the importer agreement. Porsche has made Volkswagen Group Sales India as the exclusive sole importer in the country.

Following the announcement of the record breaking sales figures, the company also announced the launch of generation 911 Carrera sports car and the new Boxter S in the Indian market. The 911 Carrera Coupe is priced at Rs 1.14 crore ex-showroom New Delhi while 911 Carrera S Coupe is priced at Rs 1.33 crore in the capital.

"It has been a very exciting past six months for us at Porsche India and we are thrilled with the pace of our network expansion and new model launches in the country. Our first full month sales result in October has been in excess of 100 units which is the best ever for the brand here. It sets us on course for a good rest of the year," said Anil Reddi, director of Porsche India.
