New Delhi, June 2 : Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Foreign Minister, Jaswant Singh, today said that coming of Nepal’s Maoist to power in the country is not in India’s interest.
Nepal’s Maoist emerged as a single largest party in the election in April aimed at cementing a peace deal that ended a decade-long civil war. The newly elected Constituent Assembly dominated by Maoists abolished 239-year old Hindu monarchy in the Himalayan Kingdom.
Addressing a news conference at the conclusion of the party’s two-day National Executive, Singh said the Maoists have not fulfilled the parameters set by United Nation observers.
