The original 'Pink Panther' car, which is known as the Panthermobile is set to be auctioned on 14 October 2011.

The model was produced in 1969, and was part of the popular Pink Panther Show from the 1960's and 70's. The car was designed by celebrated Hollywood vehicle designer Jay Ohrberg, who also designed numerous vehicles for other movies and TV shows.

Mr. Ohrberg owned the car before it was sold in June 2007 by COYS for £88,000 to the present owners. Now, auctioneers Robson Kay will put the car on auction that will begin on 4th September 2011, the day when the car will feature on the Chelsea Auto Legends Show.

The 42-year old car is not legally allowed to be driven on the road and its engine is not working condition. However, its engine was believed to have been working at the time of its first auction in 2007.
