Washington, Apr 29 : Legendary singer Sir Paul McCartney has written an open letter to actress Pamela Anderson urging her to promote vegetarianism.

The ex-Beatle, who himself is a strong animal rights advocator, has appealed to the Baywatch star to help, after both became involved in a campaign to help the plight of seals.

Anderson had urged to ban the slaughter of baby seals in her native Canada, while Macca urged the European Parliament to implement a ban on the sale of all seal products.

London, April 25 : Sir Paul McCartney may have left a Californian festival to face the music from authorities after overrunning his late night performance.

The former Beatle had played for an extra 54 minutes at the weekend's Coachella music festival.

But the 66-year-old would not be held responsible to pay the fine for running over time since laws of the area''s local authority held promoters Goldenvoice accountable for the breach.

A Swedish court found four men guilty of breaking copyright rules and ordered to repay damages to entertainment companies on April 17.

Pirate Bay, the file-sharing website, made millions of music and film files available to users for free.

And the ex-Beatle, who is headlining US festival Coachella, is in complete favour of the verdict and has urged listeners to pay for the music they buy.

London, April 19 : Sir Paul McCartney used his appearance at California's Coachella music festival on April 17 to pay tribute to his late wife Linda - who died of breast cancer in 1998 on the same day.

In an emotional performance, the ex-Beatle dedicated The Long and Winding Road and My Love to Linda.

He played a two-and-a-half hour set for 75,000 fans on the first night of one of the biggest festivals in the US.

Macca said that initially he was reluctant to perform on the death anniversary of his late wife but eventually agreed.

London, April 12 : New York City public officials have backed Sir Paul McCartney''s girlfriend Nancy Shevell after she was accused of failing her responsibilities as a transport board member due to her alleged celebrity relationship.

Shevell, who works as unpaid member for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), was said to have evoked frowns from city leaders, who claimed she was concentrating more on her personal life than her job.
