Sheila Dikshit to be sworn in as Delhi CM todayNew Delhi, De 17 : Sheila Dikshit will be sworn-in as the Chief Minister of the national capital for the third successive term today.

Lieutenant Governor Tejendra Khanna will administer the oath of secrecy to Dikshit, including her six cabinet ministers at the Raj Bhawan.

According to sources, the new government is likely to have some ministers from the previous cabinet. They are A K Walia, Arvinder Lovely, Raj Kumar Chauhan and Mangat Ram Singhal.

Dikshit had staked claim yesterday for the formation of government in the city.

According to party sources, she will submit a letter to the Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna with the names of 42 Congress MLAs.

On Wednesday, she was elected as the leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) here today.

Dikshit, leading the party to a third consecutive victory in the national capital, was elected at a meeting of all the newly elected 42 party MLAs.

Dikshit, leading the party to a third consecutive victory in the national capital, was elected at a meeting of all the newly elected 42 party MLAs.

The meeting was attended by AICC General Secretary Mohsina Kidwai, Minister of State for Finance P K Bansal and DPCC chief Jai Prakash Aggarwal.

At the meeting, a resolution supported by all the MLAs was placed which left the choice of the CLP leader to party chief Sonia Gandhi.

Sheila DikhsitWith the Congress appearing set to make a hat-trick in the Delhi assembly elections, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday said the people of the national capital voted for the party's development agenda.

"I congratulate the people of Delhi and many many thanks to them for their support and affection for the Congress," the 77-year-old leader said.

"We went to the polls on the development ground with honesty and unity, and people have voted for that," Dikshit said.

Sheila Dikshit criticises politicising terrorism

She was speaking to the media even as the results of the assembly polls were trickling in.

According to initial reports, Congress was leading in Delhi, Rajasthan and Mizoram while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in Madhya Pradesh and in Chhattisgarh.

The main opposition BJP during its election campaigning had slammed the Congress for failing to check terror incidences in the country.
