Threat emails received by President of India

The security agencies were completely confused, when Indian president, Pratibha Patil, got five email threats on Wednesday. 

The emails, which put a number of accusations on Patil, also threatened her with dangerous consequences. These emails were received form the ID “black.Monolith@gmail.Com.”

Back on Sunday, Patil had received such an email, which was traced to have come from Tamil Nadu. But, the service provider to the Internet, Airtel, failed to give any details about the connection. 

The officials investigating the case said, “All the emails were received on the President's official website -- www.Presidentofindia.Gov.In -- and the sender seemed to be a maniac.”

The emails, sent from the ID “black.monolith@gmail.com”, hurled various allegations against Patil and also threatened her with dire consequences, official sources said.

Patil had also received an email on Sunday and it was traced by the security agencies to Tamil Nadu.

However, Airtel, the service provider to the Internet connection, was unable to give details about the connection.

E-mail threat to President PatilNew Delhi, Oct 14 : President Pratibha Patil today called for an effective audit and monitoring of development schemes in the country for making them available to the intended beneficiaries.

Inaugurating the 24th conference of Accounts General here, Patil said that bench marking and assessment are the key elements of the role of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

"As a stake holder in the development, the CAG should align its audit priority with the current and strategic priorities of the government," she added.

President Patil visit Dasmunsi at AIIMSNew Delhi, Oct 14 : President Pratibha Patil visited Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) today whose condition continues to be critical on the second consecutive day.

He was admitted in the AIIMS yesterday in a critical condition after suffering from a heart stroke.

The President came at about 10.12 a. m. in the morning and remained there for nearly ten minutes, Medical Superintendent of the premier health institute, Dr D K Sharma said.

President Patil hails Indo-US civil nuclear deal

President Pratibha PatilGawedewadi (Maharashtra), Oct 13 : President Pratibha Patil on Monday hailed the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal, noting that India’s tradition of peace and brotherhood helped it gain international acceptance to trade in nuclear energy without signing the NPT or the CTBT.

“Because of India’s tradition of brotherhood ingrained in our psyche the world recognises India as a peaceful nation. This has helped us gain acceptance from international community to use nuclear energy peacefully, despite not signing the NPT or the CTBT,” Patil said.
