New York, Mar 14 : Actor-turned-rapper Joaquin Phoenix's fight in a Miami nightclub on March 11 was reportedly staged for a documentary by his brother-in-law.

A video showing Phoenix jumping into the crowd to attack a heckler at the gig is said to be a total fake, which has been staged for Casey Affleck's documentary on the actor's new career as a rapper.

The fight took place during his performance at a Belvedere IX party at Liv nightclub.

London, Mar 13 : Puerto Rican actor turned rapper Joaquin Phoenix landed himself in a huge brawl during his gig at a Miami nightclub, after he flipped when an audience member taunted him from the side.

Phoenix, 34, is said to have confronted the man mid-way through his performance.

"We have a f***ing b**** in the audience," the Sun quoted him as saying.

"I''ve got 1million dollars in the bank. What have you got b****?" he said while nodding his head and rapping to a beat.

Washington, Feb 28 : Joaquin Phoenix's rep has slammed a Chicago-based psychiatrist for claiming that the actor-turned-rapper is mentally ill.

Apparently, Paul Dobransky - a relationships expert - had told the Los Angeles Times that the 34-year-old artist may be schizophrenic, pointing to his "socially inappropriate behavior," including a new rap career, bushy beard and a bizarre Late Night with David Letterman appearance.

Washington, Feb 25 : The mockery of Joaquin Phoenix’s antics at recent award functions, including the Oscars, has been fuelled by the actor himself to collect material for a documentary on public persona, say sources.

Last year, the ‘Walk the Line’ star announced that he was retiring from acting to pursue a life-long dream of being a rapper.

But the 34-year-old star has raised grave health concerns for himself after his recent temper tantrums, bizarre behaviour and unruly appearance.

Washington, Feb 17 : Actor-turned-rapper Joaquin Phoenix says that his music career will form an important part of his life, and that it will be bigger than his acting career.

When Phoenix announced that he was quitting the film world to join the music industry, he was badly criticised for it, with some even calling it a hoax.

But the Walk The Line star insists that he is very serious about never appearing before the cameras again.

He has revealed that his music career "has been brewing for a long time," and that playing Johnny Cash in a biopic has helped him take this decision.

London, Feb 13 : Puerto Rican actor turned rapper Joaquin Phoenix was left annoyed after his meeting with talk show host David Letterman, who kept on asking him about his new looks and career.

Letterman grilled Phoenix, who had on dark glasses and chewed gum as he promoted his movie Two Lovers, about the facial beard and his new career on the Letterman''s Late Show on February 11.

But he did not get any response from the actor, who was uncooperative and kept on mumbling one-word answers, and who got annoyed after the audience began to laugh when the topic turned to his musical career.

"Is this a joke? What (drug) do you have them on? What do you gas them up with?" the Daily Star quoted Phoenix as saying.
