New Delhi, Aug 8: Economic Advisory Council Chairman Rangarajan resignsThe Chairman of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh''s Economic Advisory Council (EAC), C. Rangarajan, has resigned from his post and he is being nominated to the Rajya Sabha, official sources said on Friday.

Declining to give reasons for his resignation, Rangarajan said: "I have resigned."

Government sources say Suresh Tendulkar, Chairman, National Statistical Commission, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the EAC.
