Zardari urges India to resume composite dialogue processLahore, Jan 14 : President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the resolution of all outstanding issues between India and Pakistan is vital for durable peace in the region, and called for a resumption of the composite dialoguethat was broken off after the terrorist attacks in Mumbai in November last year.

Zardari expressed these views during a lunch hosted for TERI University Director General Dr RK Pachauri at the Presidency, the Daily Times reported.

In a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Richard Boucher, Zardari stated that New Delhi is trying to gain international support and sympathy in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks, the Nation reported.

He reiterated that Pakistan had offered every possible co-operation to India for investigating the Mumbai incident.

The award was conferred on Boucher for his services to Pakistan, The News reported.

Talking to special envoy of Iran Gholam Hossein Nozari who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday, Zardari said he was concerned about the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the Gaza Strip, and that there was a need for the international community to step in and halt the violence that has claimed over 430 lives so far.
