Paul McCartney: Divorce was a dark place

Paul McCartney: Divorce was a dark placeLondon, Jan 28 : For the first time since his much publicised divorce battle with Heather Mills, Sir Paul McCartney has come out in the open to speak about his love-split pain.

The ex-Beatle said his emotions over the break-up came out while recording latest album `Electric Arguments' as part of duo The Fireman.

"Love and light is mentioned a lot on the album. Parts of it are dark and edgy," The Sun quoted him as saying.

He added: "It could be because I've been through a dark place. I am a man who needs love. Every man needs love, guys like romance. I do anyway."

Mills, 41 ended her six years marriage with the legendary singer, with a 24.3million pounds divorce settlement last March.

Macca said: "Things don't always work out but I like the idea of being dignified. I don't think it helps to mouth off all the time."

Meanwhile, McCartney is tipped to wed US heiress Nancy Shevell, who recently got divorced.
